QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF COMPUTER TECHNICIAN I
POSITION: Computer Technician I
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated knowledge of information system hardware and software troubleshooting skills and problem resolution.
Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technology.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters in an ethical manner.
Sound organizational skills and an ability to recognize and change work priorities in a timely fashion.
Must be willing to work late and irregular hours as part of a regular 40 hr work schedule or overtime as needed.
A valid Oklahoma driver’s license is required for travel between district school buildings.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High School Diploma/associate's degree or college or technical school level study and training in similar fields are accepted.
And 1-3 years of Information Systems work experience providing end-user technical assistance.
A+ or MCSA certification is a plus.
REPORTS TO: Director of Information and Instructional Technology
JOB GOALS: The Computer Technician I will support all technology of the district by manning the HelpDesk and responding to tickets as assigned.
CTI works directly with and takes assignments from the Computer Technician II and the IT Administrative Assistant.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the District 1 to 1 program and all hardware associated with it.
Provide Helpdesk support for all technical issues
Set up, install, and maintain district technology systems.
Install workstation hardware and software upgrades.
Install and troubleshoot computer software while maintaining license requirements.
Maintain and perform the repair of computer hardware, printers, peripherals, and their related software while maintaining service-related records.
Performs the cleaning and preventive maintenance of district computer equipment.
Provide support to end users through their requests for services by troubleshooting site hardware, software, wiring, and other technical problems that may arise.
Demonstrated aptitude or competence for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
Able to lift 50 lbs.

Other duties as may be delegated from time to time by the supervisor and the supervisor may make any adjustment in the scope of responsibilities outlined above.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month basis.
Salary and working calendar to be approved by the Board.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated according to district policy.
