*Sponsored Programs Specialist / Coordinator*

The Central Sponsored Programs Administration unit contributes directly to this mission by providing comprehensive support to faculty and staff in the administration of externally sponsored projects and research.
Central Sponsored Programs Administration (CSPA), within the Division of the Vice President for Research at Oklahoma State University is seeking a Sponsored Programs Specialist/Coordinator to join the CSPA office.
This position provides support for pre-award activities for administrative units under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President for CSPA.
Responsibilities: · Preparation and submission of proposals.
· Research funding opportunities.
· Develop proposal budgets.
· Obtain cost share approval.
· Review proposal submissions and new awards for regulatory and fiscal compliance.
· Assist with routing and status monitoring of proposals and awards.
· Report changes to funding agency requirements.
· Prepare, coordinate, and monitor subcontracts.
· Participate in sponsor audits.
· Conduct/participate in workshops/training.
· Communicate policies and procedures to faculty and staff.
· Coordinate with other colleges and external institutions.
· Facilitate contract negotiations with the contracting specialist.
· Coordinate electronic research administration activities * Utilize agency specific electronic research and sponsored project administration systems including but not limited to Grants.

gov * Participate in national, regional, and local professional development continuing education and training opportunities.
* Attend relevant meetings of other University committees when agenda items impact research and sponsored project administration.
* Assist in creating training and procedures, alongside CSPA staff, for Administrative Units on best practices for successful proposal submission.
Professional Qualifications: High School/GED is required.
The ideal candidate must have at least four years of experience in Research Administration or another closely related field.
Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.
OSU prefers an individual with a bachelor’s degree with previous experience in research administration, with knowledge of grants and contracts regulations; budget development; technical reporting; proposal submission; etc.
Demonstrated abilities with proposal development and grant fiscal and regulatory compliance.
A positive and professional attitude, and willingness to assist as needed are expectations for all employees.
The Sponsored Programs Specialist/Coordinator will have excellent oral and written communication skills.
They must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and the ability to adapt to various online sponsored program systems.
The Sponsored Programs Specialist/Coordinator must be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects under strict deadlines.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
