00, Salary Work Schedule: TBD, 40 hours per week minimum Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: This position is responsible for the review and negotiation of terms and conditions for federal and non-federal contracts and other non-financial agreements associated with sponsorship of research, instruction, and extension/outreach efforts of the university.
The position works across multiple constituencies and sponsors and must possess a skill set to work with speed and accuracy in varied assignments that are likely to be multi-party, complex, time sensitive, and high profile.
The position will serve as the primary point of contact with the Office of Legal Counsel for all contracting matters.
Successful execution requires extensive communication, coordination, and collaboration across many levels of the university.
The individual in this position will work closely with college-based sponsored programs staff, with the Office of Legal Counsel, OSU Grants and Contracts Financial Administration, and the Office of Technology Commercialization.
The individual in this position reports to the Assistant Vice-President for Central Sponsored Programs Administration in the Division of the Vice President for Research.

Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree and three years' experience in contract negotiation either within an industrial setting, governmental setting, or academic environment.
Appreciation of academic culture.

Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and OMB Uniform Guidance.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; interpersonal and problem-solving ability.
Detail oriented and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability to "close the deal" Must be a highly self-motivated professional with exceptional negotiation skills.
Must understand the importance of customer service.
Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Law, Engineering, STEM, or other related field of study.
OSU prefers a person with legal training and substantial experience with contracting in the governmental and private sectors.
Depending on the expertise of the applicant, the candidate may have responsibilities related to Export Controls.
