Job Summary:
Oversee program advising and orientation for outbound students.
Advise and support students throughout the application, placement and returnee phases of Reciprocal Exchange, National Student Exchange, and Affiliated/Approved Programs for outbound and inbound participants.
Provide guidance and training to peer advisors.
Maintain Terra Dotta Software and assist with program development.
Evaluate courses to be taken abroad for OSU equivalence and advise OUTBOUND participants on all aspects of the outbound exchange academic credit process.
Provide guidance for INBOUND participants on course offerings at OSU and work with the various departments on campus to request permission for students to enroll in courses requiring prerequisite overrides.
Oversee and maintain all scholarships overseen and stewarded by the Center for Global Learning.
Tasks include review of all scholarships application materials, award input in Banner, and communication with Financial Aid on all awards.
Shared office space with limited privacy.
Some weekend and after-hours work is required on occasion.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree and one to three years of experience in a related setting.
Computer proficiency: Terra Dotta Studio Abroad, Word, Power Point, Publisher, Excel, Access, Outlook, InDesign and Photoshop.
Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, organizational and supervisory skills.
Commitment to excellence in service while working with students, faculty and university officials from varied cultural backgrounds.
Experience mentoring, advising, and goal setting for university students.
Interest in professional development and involvement in professional organizations.
Effective and professional problem-solving.
Flexibility in work assignments Professional presentation style.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in an area with international focus.
Four years of directly related experience with academic counseling or student affairs.
Previous work experience in a study abroad office or other international office work, study, or travel experience abroad.
Strong intercultural communication skills and diversity appreciation.
Proficiency in a language other than English.
Knowledge of current events related to international issues.
Ability to teach a one-credit study abroad class.
