Northern Oklahoma College Stillwater has an opening for a full-time child-development instructor through the Division of Social Sciences beginning in the Fall 2024 semester.
The minimum requirement is a master’s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in child development, early childhood education, or equivalent qualifiers.

Successful applicants will complete training during the first semester of employment and complete both IT and Blackboard training prior to the beginning of the first semester.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours for both the fall and spring semesters.
Providing academic advisement to Child Development students, as well as assisting those in other majors in peak enrollment periods.
Working closely with the Scholars for Excellence in Child Care staff, as well as, community partners, such as OKDHS and Oklahoma Resource and Referral.
Serving on two institutional committees.
Providing required data for program assessment.
Reviewing and completing textbook adoption as needed.
Assisting in developing semester course schedules.
Providing assistance and tutoring to Child Development students as needed.
Areas of Knowledge and Expertise Include:
A background regarding the online learning process and pedagogy.
A thorough understanding of best practices in early care, development, and education of children from birth through age eight, including developmentally appropriate practice, NAEYC Principles and Guidelines, and the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.
A knowledge of the Child Development Associate Council (CDA) process.
A comprehensive knowledge of national, state, and local requirements regarding, licensing standards, Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder, Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines, Oklahoma Common Core Standards, and NAEYC accreditation standards for both 2-year programs and child care facilities is also required.
