The Position
The National Account Manager is responsible for growing our welding wire business by specifically developing programs for large, multi-site end-user customers.
This role is paramount to achieving our strategic objectives.
They will work closely to build value propositions that solve our customer’s challenges and pain points.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a list of customers acquisition targets.
Initiate sales calls, whether cold calls or from leads, with target accounts within the defined territory (USA).
Manage the opportunity funnel, and the overall sales cycles for national accounts to drive dramatic sales volume increases.
Coordinate and leverage limited resources for maximum sales volume and profitability impact.
Create proposals and presentations based on understanding the potential customer’s needs.
Work as a team with our District Sales Managers and Application Engineers to obtain new customers.
Develop and maintain relationships with key customers.
Design sales programs and set short and long-term sales strategies along with maintaining suitable pricing based on market competition and profit goals.
Drive sales initiatives to meet and exceed performance goals.
Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
Ensure exemplary customer service by addressing and resolving quality issues and other concerns.
Develop sales forecasts with monthly updates.
Utilize cross functional teams for value-add propositions to customers.
Function as liaison between customers and internal teams.
Participate in trade shows and trade association meetings.
Coordinate and/or deliver product demonstrations and trials with customers.
Facilitate new account creation with the accounting department.
Solicit and report on key market intelligence monthly.
Gather Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback and work with Product Management to incorporate into our marketing materials and product development.
Develop and administer training to customers and colleagues.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university program in related field.
At least five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expert level knowledge of welding and welding filler metals.
This position will require extensive travel.
Must be able to work independently and drive results.
Must be able to communicate effectively to include presenting and public speaking.
Must be detailed oriented with solid verbal and written communication skills.
This position will require working varied hours.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
Experience in SalesForce or other CRM systems is desired.
Ability to lead others without having direct reports.
Highly motivated and high energy personality who loves a huge challenge.
