Position Description
The Tool Room Attendant provides assistance in the organization, reception and distribution of Thompson Construction Group tools, materials and equipment in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain Tool Room organization and cleanliness
Organize storage of all tools and equipment inside warehouse and outside yard
Identify company tools and equipment using labels, paint, tags, stamp or engraver
Perform warehouse/yard inventory counts
Keep warehouse and yard areas organized and clean
Reception and Distribution of tools and equipment in a safe, accurate and timely manner
Document all tool/equipment transfers using the ToolWatch Asset Management Software
Unload materials, tools, and equipment using lull forklift
Receive and store incoming tools and equipment
Inspect tools and equipment using appropriate inspection forms
Manage small tool repairs with selective vendors
Transport and Maintenance of tools and equipment
Deliver vehicles/equipment to job sites using 2500 Truck and 40’ gooseneck trailer
Perform routine maintenance on equipment when necessary (Fuel, Oil, Water, Filter, etc)
Clean Vehicles and Heavy equipment using pressure washer when necessary
Tool Room Attendant works under the direct supervision of Tool Room Coordinator
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
Experience working in the construction industry is preferred
Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from foreman/lead-person
Must be able to utilize basic math and read a tape measure
Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card and have a clean MVR
Must be able to obtain forklift certification
Must be able to use basic computer skills and Windows based programs
Must be able to obtain a proficient use of ToolWatch Asset Management Program
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments
May be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check based on job location/requirements
