POSITION NAME: Laborer LOCATION: Enid, OK JOB DESCRIPTION: Purpose: The Laborer will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
They may operate hand and power tools of all types as well as vehicle maintenance, facility maintenance and cleaning.
They may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.
They will also assist other craft workers.
Principle Activities and Essential Function: Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment Coordinate traffic control Build fence Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools.
Decontamination of heavy equipment including haul trucks.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
Install erosion control Assist with excavation and/or hand excavation of contaminated soils.
Provide excellent customer service to land owners Assist with the assembly of shoring systems for excavation Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to pass criminal history background based on contract requirements Possess and maintain a valid drivers license and meet company insurance requirements Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER &/or 8-hour Refresher OSHA 10 Hour 2+ years of construction experience preferred Experience with Behavioral-based safety programs preferred Skills and Knowledge: Reliable transportation to and from work.
