Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Professionally applies standard engineering practices, disciplines, documented FES processes, written/verbal communications, and teamwork to assist FES programs in satisfying customer requirements.
Responsible for implementing and performing directed electrical engineering processes in order to assist in designing, modeling, manufacturing, and testing of electronic housing assemblies, circuit card assemblies, printed wiring boards, cables, wire harnesses, and electronic systems.
Applies knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering concepts in order to produce, check, and incorporate changes to design and test documentation.
Provides assistance in relaying engineering information between Programs, Manufacturing, Process Quality, Material Control, Configuration Management, and Purchasing.
Assists in creating project parts lists, tracking the status of purchased parts, and resolving any part/material issue.
Relies on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform routine, assigned tasks.
Basic Qualifications: Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States (no sponsorship).
Ability to distinguish color.
Visual acuity to 20/20 (corrected).
Background/Credit Check is required.
Must be able to pass Drug/Alcohol Test administered in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Education: College or above: Seeking Degree/major: B.
S.
degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology.
Related work experience required: Entry level engineering experience with an interest in digital and analog circuits.
Ability to learn engineering practices for designing and modeling system and unit schematics, parts selection, PWB layout, rack / drawer assemblies, connector panels, cables, electronic housing assemblies, circuit card assemblies, and creating detailed design documentation in tools such as Altium and MATLAB.
Designs, adapts, and/or validating electrical processes needed to manufacture printed wiring boards such as surface mount assembly, soldering processes, installation of press fit connectors, lead forming, and X-Ray Fluorescence testing.
Ability to learn how to develop electrical designs that optimize producibility and testability and how to produce design documentation, test procedures, test reports, power derating, worst-case circuit, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and/or qualification reports.
Ability to learn how to perform System or Product Qualification Tests and how to develop/incorporate redline drawing changes and Engineering Change Notices.
Ability to assist in preparing presentations and with external project reviews and audits.
Ability to learn how to track progress of purchasing, up-screening, and receiving of high reliability parts used in program and ensures specifications are met.
Reviews specifications.
Ability to learn how to develop program timelines and reports, design reviews, electrical design, documentation packages, pre-production builds, and transfers to production.
Ability to develop and perform Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) on assigned systems.
Capable of working and operating thermal chambers, flying probe, DIT-MCO, and test apparatus for environmental testing to specifications such as MIL-STD-810.
Completes task assignments that meet technical requirements within quality, schedule, and cost constraints.
Employs technical analysis and rigorous engineering processes to resolve technical issues within electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, designs, and products.
Clear, concise, and articulate communication of ideas and concepts in English both verbally and in writing.
Professionally communicates information and responds to internal/external customer requests.
Complies with assigned work schedules and overtime requests required to fulfill program and organizational objectives.
Works in a positive, cooperative, and respectful manner to proactively respond to the needs of internal customers.
Special skills or abilities required: Adept in MS Office applications.
Experience with ASME Y14.

Ability to understand and apply International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DSS) regulations/ restrictions as they pertain to foreign travel and interaction with non-U.

Additional Education/Experience/Skills preferred: Experience using engineering lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, loads, spectrum analyzer, current probe amplifiers, FPGA programmers, etc.
Experience with MATLAB, Altium, CostPoint, MS Project, ProPricer, and Visio.
Experience working within an AS9100 quality system environment.
