The Database Analyst serves as a member of the Data Management team in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
This position provides rigorous data analysis and research in a multi-platform environment to enhance the enrollment management operations for Undergraduate Admissions and other campus units.
The Database Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining ad-hoc and recurring reports in various admissions areas including recruitment, campus events and visits, communications, and operations.
This position also assists with the daily operations of the Slate CRM including system maintenance, query development, process automation, data integrity, system security, integration with other campus systems, and the development of new Slate features.
This position also assists with training for new and existing Slate users across the university.
In order to succeed in this role, excellent communication and organizational skills are required to assist university staff with recruiting prospective students.
Position may be eligible for remote or hybrid work schedule; however, any offer is contingent upon approval by University Human Resources in consideration of OSU policies, labor laws, and suitability to the work of the position/department.
If remote work is approved, employee may not have an office on campus.

Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics or a related field
Two years of related experience conducting rigorous data analysis and research in a formal setting.
Demonstrated ability to conduct data analysis and research to support the planning, development, and coordination of undergraduate admissions efforts to recruit prospective students.
Experience working with datasets from multiple sources and formats.
Experience with statistical software (R, SAS, Stata, etc.
) and/or data visualization software (Tableau, SAS Viya, etc.
).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to represent the department on data driven issues with external constituents
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities at one time; assist with the planning, installation, operation, and effective utilization of all information systems related to data analysis and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, adaptable and proactive in problem identification and resolution, critical thinking and acceptance of improved technology and data collection, measurement and presentation in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Demonstrated organizational skills, creativity, logic, and strategic thinking in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new technologies and/or services in a high-impact environment including robust training to end-users.
Previous experience in an admissions office or related field with organizational processes preferred.
Previous experience with CRM, document imaging software, admissions and/or university software including Technolutions Slate and Ellucian Banner.
Significant experience with programming languages such as HTML, XML, SQL, VBA, JavaScript, etc.
Significant experience with statistical software (R, SAS, Stata, etc.
) and/or data visualization software (Tableau, SAS Viya, etc.
).
Computer skills must include proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Coding experience with one or more programming languages such as HTML, SQL XML, Javascript, etc.
Experience with statistical software and/or data visualization software.
