Description:
This is a night shift position.
The Batcher I position obtains and mixes all ingredients per provided recipe to match a batch of BBQ sauce.
The Cook also performs tests on all batches prior to pumping the product to the holding tank.
The Cook also CIPs equipment as often as necessary.
This position is required to participate in the end of shift sanitation process, which involves intensive cleaning of our production floor and machinery.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Set up batch deck and perform calibration procedures on pH probe & temp probe (Record tests)
Gather all necessary materials for the batch and allocate for use within PLEX system
Heat water to predetermined temperature, rinse and/or CIP as needed
Acquire necessary ingredients as outlined in recipe, enter/split items in Plex
Record usage of materials in Plex
Mix ingredients per procedures
Heat mixed sauce to predetermined temperature
Perform tests on product for Brix & pH (Record results)
Perform consistometer and organoleptic tests (Record results)
Verify transfer route of product to correct holding tank
Record all lot #s and batch temps on check sheet.
Perform intensive pre and post production cleaning (QMR1.

Adheres to plant Good Manufacturing Practices and supports food safety objectives
Requirements:
Minimum:
Ability to read and write
Ability to follow written instructions
Ability to use various test instruments
Ability to understand test results and record findings
Ability to lift 75lbs repeatedly during a 10-hour shift
Ability to measure defined quantities of ingredients
Preferred:
High School Diploma/GED
3+ years in a food manufacturing plant
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite and Google products

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to work in multiple climates and work environments.
Proper safety equipment will be provided, but the employee may be required to work in, but not limited to, these conditions: dirt, heat, freezer, smoke/steam, noise, vibration, grease/oil, fumes, dust/shavings, and wet environments; variable temperatures of both heat and cold.
