Job Description
The Small Business Development Specialist is responsible for assisting small businesses and entrepreneurs affiliated with the ARRT3, 2ERRTC, and LU-RRTC3 in achieving their goals by offering strategic guidance, resources, and support.
They work to enhance the overall competitiveness, profitability, and sustainability of small businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Client Consultation:
o Meet with small business owners and entrepreneurs to assess their needs and challenges.
o Conduct thorough business assessments to understand current operations, financials, and goals.
2.
Business Planning and Strategy:
o Assist clients in developing business plans, including financial projections, marketing strategies, and growth plans.
o Provide strategic advice on market research, target audience identification, and competitive analysis.
3.
Financial Management:
o Offer guidance on financial management, including budgeting, cash flow analysis, and access to capital.
o Help clients explore funding options such as loans, grants, and investment opportunities.
4.
Market Expansion:
o Advise on market expansion strategies, including geographic expansion, product diversification, or entering new markets.
o Support clients in identifying potential business partnerships and collaborations.
5.
Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure clients are aware of and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
o Assist with business licensing, permits, and other legal requirements.
6.
Resource Identification:
o Connect clients with relevant resources, such as industry associations, networking events, and training programs.
o Provide information on government assistance programs and incentives.
7.
Technology Integration:
o Advise on technology adoption to improve operations and customer engagement.
o Help clients with website development, e-commerce solutions, and digital marketing strategies.
8.
Performance Measurement:
o Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks to track business progress.
o Regularly review and analyze business performance to identify areas for improvement.
9.
Networking and Outreach:
o Build and maintain a network of industry professionals, government agencies, and business support organizations.
o Represent the organization at events and conferences to promote small business development services.
10.
Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate client records, including progress reports and financial documentation.
o Prepare reports on the impact and success of the small business development program.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a field such as business administration, finance, accounting or marketing or a minimum of five years experience in the field.
