DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: We partner to build and strengthen donor confidence through strategic communication and engagement opportunities that celebrate donor impact.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The student in this position will work closely with the Donor Relations Department to ensure the success of various stewardship initiatives.
This will include corresponding with scholarship recipients, proofreading and editing various types of communication, and documenting stewardship activity.
This position will require working 20-30 hours per week.
Work schedule is flexible, but must be between the hours of 8 – 5, Monday through Friday.
Edit/Prepare Student Correspondence – 70%
Work with the scholarships team to ensure the successful submission/distribution of student communication for more than 350 general university scholarships
Edit and prepare scholarship profiles – utilizing an online survey tool and internal document management system (OnBase)
Assist with the assembly of scholar profiles to ensure timely delivery to OSU donors
Coordinate student recipient correspondence for PDS/DGF spring mailing and donor-related events
Donor Documentation – 20%
Research scholarship and fund history in donor/document databases (Ascend and OnBase)
Assist scholarships team with coordinating donor biographies
Document Acknowledgement Letters – 10%
Edit donor acknowledgements
Record acknowledgements in donor/document databases (Ascend and OnBase)
Assemble regular mailings
Other duties as assigned.
JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
Education & Certifications:
Oklahoma State University student in good standing with the university
Experience:
Background in communications preferred
Competencies:
Strong analytical, organizational and execution skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with little supervision
Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar, etc.
; modern office methods and procedures; and equipment and filing systems
Ability to interact and collaborate with fellow team members, campus partners and OSU students
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people on campus and across the country.
Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types.
Must be able to navigate within the OSU Foundation.
