The creative communications specialist will create and incorporate graphic design and layout elements for multimedia efforts on the web, social media, brochures, magazines, posters and related materials.
They will join an experienced creative team in the Office of Communications and Marketing for OSU Agriculture and report directly to the Ferguson College of Agriculture communications and marketing manager.
They are part of a team that works closely with the associate dean and leadership of the Ferguson College of Agriculture to develop and implement appropriate content across multiple communications platforms in order to highlight the college within the OSU community, as well as the state, region and country.
Responsibilities: *Execute exceptional print and digital-based designs that are precise, creative and meet accessibility requirements.
Maintain an eye for detail and deliver on deadline.
*Shoot and edit promotional video for websites, emails and social media.
Demonstrate self-direction, creativity and strategic thinking in developing college video content.
*Design and plan marketing photo shoots for the college.
Serve as a photographer for college marketing photo shoots and provide photography support at college events as needed.
*Work in collaboration with the department’s photographer on the processing, editing and distribution of photo assets for the college.
*Assist with maintaining image storage and archiving in accordance with best practices set forth by the department.
*Write and edit copy for marketing materials, print and news.
Writing assignments may include overall messaging for college recruitment, descriptions of majors and other college content.
*Work with team to develop campaigns with respect to creative/graphic design elements, message, and content creation, as well as overall audience strategy.
*Work with digital communications specialist to develop graphic content for digital platforms.
Assist in monitoring social media channels.
*Assist communications and marketing manager in supervising student employees.
Oversee projects assigned to students in regard to design, videography, photography and other creative tasks.
Assign projects and review completed tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
*Collaborate with others in the Ferguson College of Agriculture and the Office of Communications and Marketing to promote, publicize and otherwise generate positive visibility for the activities and programs of OSU Agriculture.
Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s in Ag Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Strategic Communications, Mass Communications, or related field.

Valid Drivers License; Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties.
Reimbursement for official travel.
Duty reporting is in-person on the OSU campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Proficiencies & Knowledge: *Graphic design, marketing and public relations skills required *Ability to work within existing brand guidelines and designs to deliver cross-platform materials relevant for a variety of audiences including students, faculty, alumni and the public *Experience in photography; experience with tagging, editing, and digital file storage is a plus *Experience in video creation for incorporation into web, email and social media *Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom and Photoshop *Proficient in MS Office Suite *Proofreading to ensure accurate and high-quality work *Solid understanding of Associate Press style *Ability to work under deadline, both within a strategic communications team, as well as independently *Strong creative and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in the university setting *Basic knowledge of creating content that meets accessibility best practices a plus *Knowledge of agriculture a plus Preferred: Three years of experience in communications, including but not limited to graphic design, writing, video, print and electronic content creation and/or related tasks/projects.
