Reports to: Building Principal Supervises: Assigned Paraprofessionals, Volunteers, and Students Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Assigned Subject(s); Preferrred: Administrative Certification or Seeking Administrative Certification Job Goal: Provide exceptional instructional coaching to teachers with the building.

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students; lift/move up to 15 pounds Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 25 pounds, ability to administer CPR Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Partners with teachers in the planning and implementation of instructional methods and strategies to ensure student learning of district power standards and Oklahoma PASS Skills.
Becomes skillful in the areas of communication, relationship building, change management and leadership.
Becomes knowledgeable in Robert Marzano’s research on teaching and learning and the components, principles, and framework of Dr.
Jim Knight’s Partnership Learning Instructional Coaching Process.
Keeps abreast of research in the areas of student learning and instruction.
Encourages and supports teachers’ reflection of their classroom practices.
Becomes skillful in providing effective feedback to meet the needs of individual teachers Models lessons or parts of lessons based on research-based best practices for probationary and career teachers.
Observes teachers to provide suggestions for task analysis of lesson design to break down teaching practices into manageable components.
Assists teachers in developing and implementing effective, research-based classroom management techniques, content enhancement, lesson design, and formative assessment practices.
Works with site principals to fully understand the school’s vision for school improvement Works with others in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction to deliver the district’s total educational program.
Attends all district meetings as required by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
Provides resources for site Professional Learning Communities.
Assists in the planning and implementation of district programs related to instruction.
Provides district and site training as appropriate.
Attends site, district, and state training related to coaching, instruction, curriculum, and/or assessment.
Collaborates with site leadership teams to ensure that teachers have the necessary training, resources and skills to implement best practices Meets district and site staff development requirements.
Assist in the selection and adoption of new instructional materials, methods, and programs.
Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
