00, Salary Work Schedule: M-F (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Faculty Appt Period: 12 months Job Summary: Nature of Position: Langston University is currently searching to fill a full time, nontenure track Assistant Professor of English, Rhetoric and Composition, with some experience in creative writing and working with marginalized populations.
The starting date will be Fall 2023.
Duties and Responsibilities: Faculty member must be prepared to fulfill the responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service to the university.
The faculty member will teach a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
Faculty member will provide academic advising to undergraduate students.
Faculty member will actively seek grants and other funding to help strengthen the department's research program and provide student support.
Faculty member will participate in departmental, school, and university projects and committees.
The faculty member will play an active role in shaping the future of the English department through departmental planning and development.

D.
in Rhetoric and Composition or closely related field is required; ABD encouraged to apply.
College teaching experience preferred.
The preferred candidate will also have experience working with diverse and marginalized populations, co-reqs and basic writers.
The preferred candidate must have the ability to demonstrate use of technology in the classroom and must be willing and able to use technology relevant to specifically assigned courses.
Online teaching experience, willingness to teach online, and the ability to communicate well and employ teaching methods that engage students from traditionally underrepresented populations will be a plus.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
