We seek an artist and educator who demonstrates a broad knowledge of issues, methods, and theories of both historical and contemporary art.
The teaching responsibility will be a maximum of 4/4 and is comprised of 3D Foundations, Jewelry 1, Jewelry 2, and Advanced Jewelry Studio.
Special Instructions to Applicants Required Application Materials: · Cover letter describing qualifications and interest in this position.
· Teaching philosophy,1-2 pages.
· Artist statement, 1-2 pages · Curriculum vita, including the names and contact information for three recommenders.
Recommenders will be contacted at the finalist stage.
· Portfolio: 20 labeled examples of personal work · Student Work Portfolio and/or Sample Syllabi, if student work is limited.

com/138837 Education & Experience Position Qualifications: An ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching using a range of hands-on skills in tandem with contemporary fabrication methods.
Knowledge of software to teach 3D modeling and printing starting at the foundation level curriculum is expected.
Additionally, the 3D foundations course integrates teaching a range of materials and methods, including soldering, wood fabrication, public art, site-specific installation, laser cutting, etc.
Preference will be given to candidates whose portfolio of student artwork shows examples of these approaches.

in Jewelry and Metals, Sculpture, or another closely related field.
· Ability to teach the methods and materials of Jewelry & Metals from the introductory level through intermediate and advanced courses.
· Ability to teach 3D foundations (Visual Thinking: Form and Space) using teaching methods listed above that engage students and encourage them to be motivated learners.
· Experience managing a studio and equipment integrating safety into class demonstrations and practices.
· Knowledge of the historical and contemporary state of the discipline.
· Evidence of an active exhibition record.
Preferred Qualifications: · Have experience teaching both traditional processes and contemporary digital fabrication methods including designing artwork in 3D software for extrusion and/or resin printing, utilizing Adobe Illustrator to design original artwork for laser cutting, and/or other related experience.
· Articulate a sophisticated approach to teaching Jewelry & Metals that includes a sculptural/conceptual awareness or other expanded notion of the medium.
· Have a studio practice and/or teaching philosophy that invites interdisciplinarity or connects meaningfully to other bodies of knowledge.
· Ability to support the learning needs of students from all backgrounds and a commitment to improving access to higher education for all populations.
