ASRC Federal Field Services provides on-site and in-house architectural and engineering design, project management and construction services to Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK.
The small office work environment allows professional architects and engineers to provide timely and dedicated AE services to the Air Force.
ASRC Federal Field Services provides services to the Air Force to repair, renovate and sustain the campus of buildings on-site.
This role will support other AE staff in the planning and execution of construction projects on existing and new buildings.
Job Description: Architectural Design Associate (ADA)
The work of the Architectural Design Associate (ADA) will consist of common architectural services as directed by either the Senior Architect or the Chief of Engineering.
Primary efforts will focus on vertical facilities, however, there may be instances where the ADA will be assigned tasks which support horizontal projects.
In all instances, the assigned work will be completed in a workman-like manner, will be completed on time, and will have gone through a personal quality control review prior to submitting the work to the Senior Architect or Chief of Engineering.
Work tasks assigned by the Senior Architect or Chief of Engineering may include the following: (This list is not comprehensive, nor will every item be required for every task / project.
)
* Draft concept, design development and/or construction documents as required for the project.
* Assist in research and documentation of codes, UFC criteria, and standards which are necessary to define the project and to develop buildable documents.
* Assist in the development of architectural and general specifications.
* Develop estimates of probable construction cost for projects / tasks.
* Conduct product research as necessary for incorporating products in project documents.
* Assist in the review of construction submittals.
* Assist in the review and preparation of responses to Contractor Requests for Information (RFI)s.
* Assist in the development of Change Orders and Architectural Supplemental Instructions (ASI)s.
* Attend meetings to document requests for information and other project issues which require resolution.
If the Senior Architect is unable to attend a meeting, the ADA will document the issues raised at the meeting in a set of written meeting minutes which are to be provided to the Senior Architect in a timely manner.
* Participate in field investigations and, where necessary, coordinate with others for access to the spaces.
Lead the coordination effort with other Base personnel when other additional services are required as part of the investigation / documentation of a project.
Attend any specialized training required for completing field investigation work.
* Participate in the development of standards for the discipline and the engineering team.
* Assist in the coordination of both internal and external team members for meetings, meeting locations, and deliverable schedules.
* Develop and maintain record documents (drawings, specifications, narratives, electronic files, etc.
) for projects as directed by the Chief of Engineering.
* Other tasks relevant to professional architectural services which may be assigned by the Senior Architect or Chief of Engineering.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree and be capable of satisfying the requirements established by the Oklahoma Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Registered Commercial Interior Designers for obtaining licensure as an Architect.
Work experience can substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
* 2 – 4 years of work experience as an Architect or a related field.
Advanced education can substitute for work experience on a year-for-year basis.
* Valid OK driver's license is required.
Out of state candidates must be able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
* Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a government common access card.
* Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to contract requirements.
Preferred Requirements:
* Licensure is preferred.
