Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of children's developmental, sensory, motor, and functional abilities to determine individualized intervention plans.
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to gather comprehensive information about the child's needs and goals.
Design and implement goal-oriented, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that address fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care routines, handwriting, play skills, and other areas of concern.
Develop and modify treatment plans as needed, tracking progress and making adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes for each child.
Create a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment that encourages children's participation and motivation during sessions.
Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, such as sensory integration, play therapy, adaptive equipment, and technology, to facilitate skill development and progress.
Educate and train parents, caregivers, and teachers on strategies to support the child's therapeutic goals in various settings, including home and school.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with professional and legal standards.
Keep abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy to continually enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and interdisciplinary collaborations to ensure a holistic approach to child-centered care.
Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice established by relevant professional organizations.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
State licensure as an Occupational Therapist, and certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Strong understanding of child development, sensory processing, and motor skills acquisition.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with children, parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and promoting their well-being.
Problem-solving skills to adapt interventions and strategies based on individual needs and challenges.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage caseload and documentation responsibilities.
