JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Accounting Manager Reports to: Controller FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: This position oversees the general accounting and accounts payable functions by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties: Oversees and assists in the preparation of financial statements and reconciling the general ledger.
Performs account analysis of all balance sheet accounts to ensure all accounts are accurately supported by subsidiary ledgers and detail.
Reviews and prepares bank reconciliation and reviews all other corporate bank accounts to the general ledger.
Ensures that all governmental and tribal payments occur according to applicable regulations and schedules.
Participates in monthly financial statements.
Assists with financial system modification, enhancement, and implementation training.
Performs special analysis upon request by management.
Responds positively to changes in systems and methods while successfully implementing necessary procedural adjustments.
Ensures that all financial records are properly safeguarded.
Maintains superior customer service to all internal and external customers.
Directly supervises accounting staff.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities per the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum of five years of accounting experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess excellent customer service skills, strong telephone etiquette, and be a self-starter with the ability to multitask, follow up, and complete tasks promptly with minimum supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as gain the cooperation of employees and fellow staff members.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Intermediate skills in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite Software, Excel, and enterprise-specific programs.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and internal/external customers.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Ability to solve practical problems.
Working Conditions and Physical Environment: Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer.
Able to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
Hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors, and on the telephone.
Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly.
Physical agility to bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk, reach and lift up to 25 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and at the levels normally performed in an office environment May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
