JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Accounting Clerk 2
Reports to: Controller
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: Keeps financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements.
Runs accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
Essential Duties:
Verifies the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.
g.
, disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs.
Compiles data and prepares a variety of reports.
Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
Provides accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department.
Prepares bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
Reconciles accounts in a timely manner.
Enters key data of financial transactions in database daily.
Provides assistance and support to company personnel
Researches, tracks and restores accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
Prepares reports and gathers data for management as needed.
Functions in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree or relevant certifications required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Three to Five years’ experience in Accounting field, directly handling processes aforementioned.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts receivable clerk or Accounts payable clerk.
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
Data entry and word processing skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to work under stressful situations and circumstances.
