Job Summary:
The Accountant position in Chemical Engineering functions as a part of the administrative team.
This position reports directly to the department head and is responsible for the fiscal operations of the entire department.
This position will perform monthly reconciliations for grants, contracts, foundation accounts and academic accounts.
This position will also be responsible for all departmental purchases, filing conflict of interest documentation, maintaining integrity of financial operations, forecasting future expenditure, auditing department finances to detect violations, providing faculty with an understanding of financial policies and procedures, and aiding with interpreting financial information.
This position will work closely with the business operations unit at the college level and will be expected to participate in trainings and meetings with those members.
This position is an integral part of the Chemical Engineering administrative team and will help serve as back-up on other administrative processes when needed.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Accounting, Business, Finance, or another related field.
Knowledge of generalized accounting principles.
Experience using Excel or other accounting software.
Ability to communicate financial information in relatively simple terms.
Proficiency in performing financial calculations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in Accounting, Business, Finance or another related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Proficiency in Banner, AIRS, and OKCorral systems
In-depth knowledge of generalized accounting principles
