Job Summary:
The Grant Accounting and Assessment Officer's primary responsibilities will include leading, preparation, and departmental readiness for the annual financial and compliance audits, preparation of work papers, development and evaluation of the Schedule of Federal Awards and directing audit responses, leading/preparing external desk reviews, sub-recipient reviews, and institutional grant expenditure reviews for the Stillwater, OKC, OSU-IT, Tulsa, CHS, and Langston Campuses.
The Officer will develop the evaluation processes of data collections, monthly and annual departmental and university grant reporting of grant expenditures and compliance activities, and lead in the departmental budgeting activities.
Additional hours outside of the traditional 8-5, M-F may be necessary in order to meet deadlines and complete projects.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and five years of experience in auditing and/or accounting, supervision.
Must have good working knowledge of: accounting principles, auditing standards, fund accounting principles, federal and state regulations.
Must be able to apply technical knowledge pragmatically in solving problems.
Must keep abreast of current technical developments by reviewing publications and attending appropriate seminars.
Must be able to explain, convince, and be understood in oral and written communications with persons at all levels of the University.
Must properly "think through" problems.
Must be creative, yet pragmatic in posing solutions, does not overly rely on prior experience.
Must visualize and present alternative approaches, but is decisive in making recommendations.
Must be able to identify the significant problems that must be resolved and acquire sufficient objective facts relevant to the problems.
Evidences judgment and maturity in distinguishing the important from the unimportant, in both a personal and technical sense.
Must maintain objectivity and integrity at all times.
Must be self-motivated in approach to work, development of others and own development; reaches for responsibility.
Must understand people by recognizing their point of view and be aware of the effect of his or her actions on them.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in accounting or a business related field and seven years of experience in grant operations in a governmental or university setting.
Certified Public Accountant.
Certified Research Administrator.
Experience as an auditee and preparation of audit work papers
