Job Summary:
Merchant Services, within the office of Finance Operational Risk, Compliance, and Efficiency is hiring a Merchant Services Specialist.
The successful candidate will serve as a point of contact for university departments and merchant service providers for OSU merchant service activity.
Excellent communication skills, time management, computer skills, and consistent attention to detail are essential to this position.
The Merchant Services Specialist will:
Manage day-to-day activity for merchant services, including but not limited to:
Open new Merchant IDs (MIDs) for credit card processing
Deploy new credit card devices/software and provide maintenance on existing devices
Troubleshoot transactions questions/concerns
Troubleshoot credit card device, gateway software and other merchant services related issues in a timely and professional manner
Manage necessary paper work to maintain all MIDs, gateways, terminals and associated POS
Provide customer support and training to all university merchants
Process all monthly billing related to merchant departments, third party credit card companies and Service Providers
Facilitate, monitor, review and train departments on credit card Chargeback/Dispute Processes
Assist in the administration of OSU's centralized e-commerce solution
Facilitate Business process review
Consciously and consistently provide excellent customer service Stay up to date on PCI DSS releases and assist in OSU's compliance program
Serve as a subject matter expert for payment methods at OSU
Other duties as assigned by the Merchant Services Manager

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School/GED and two years of experience directly related to overseeing business operations or experience in the financial/merchant services industry.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate in a direct, positive manner that engages dialog and resolves differences.
Advanced user skills in Excel.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently; problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, and work multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing environments and learn new processes.
Ability to be flexible and organized.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field.
Knowledge of OSU financial systems and 3rd party applications in use at OSU (AIRS, OK Corral).
Relevant experience working at the institutional level of a large, complex organization.
