Position Overview
Under the direction of Senior Accountant, performs financial and administrative duties aimed at furthering the goals and objectives of both the Finance Division and the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma.
Essential Functions
Provide accounting support in the Finance Division, particularly in reference to the revenue cycle & function and budgeting for the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma.

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in reference to fund accounting.
Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) if implementation is required.
Ability to utilize MIP Fund Accounting Software.
Perform special projects as needed.
May research, gather and analyze data and then convert into useful financial information.
Investigates and collects returned items.
Tracks returned checks and chargebacks through to resolution.
Compiles data and prepares a variety of monthly financial reports for tribal programs, Indirect Cost, and Nation Operations.
Communicates with Division Directors, Program Managers, and other personnel regarding fiscal questions, concerns, discrepancies, etc.
Works with the personnel within the Finance Division to address financial questions and concerns and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Answers questions regarding policies and procedures associated with Finance Division functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational
Requirements
Minimum: An Associate degree in business with an emphasis in accounting or finance
Substitution: A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in accounting, revenues, budgeting, and financial analysis may be considered in lieu of Associate degree.
Experience Requirements
Minimum: Three (3) years of work experience in accounting, revenues, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Computer:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Proficiency in MIP Fund Accounting Software system.
Communication:
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers and outside organizations.
Skilled in the use of business communications (proper spelling/grammar).
Skilled in the use of business arithmetic.
Miscellaneous:
Ability to pass a background screening.
Must maintain confidentiality.
Must demonstrate good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and generally work well under pressure.
Ability to analyze transactions and adopt appropriate courses of action.
Ability to be persuasive and tactful in controversial discussions.
Ability to effectively conduct research, analyze and interpret data and information.
Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local law & regulations.
Understanding of fund accounting.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
Frequently, the employee is required to stand and walk.
Occasionally, the employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally, the employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is generally performed in an office setting with a low to moderate noise level.
Evening and/or weekend work may be required if a deadline is impending.
There is regular interaction with the public, other organizations, and employees.
Firm time constraints and multiple demands may arise and be common.
Travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events at least once a year.
This will be 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday position.
