IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: SELF-GOVERNANCE/TRUST DIRECTOR CONTROLLING SUPERVISOR: CHAIR STATUS: EXEMPT, FULL-TIME LOCATION: KAW CITY, OK QUALIFICATIONS: The Applicate is required to have a High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational/Trade School Certificate/Diploma.
An Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, Office Administration, or related field is preferred.
Two years of work experience in the fields mentioned may be substituted for educational requirements.
The Candidate must possess clerical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, research skills, and the ability to set priorities.
Must be able to organize, meet deadlines, coordinate work efficiently and independently in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced environment.
Computer skills, specifically MS Office, are required with a focus on Word and Excel.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for overall administrative office operational support for the Self-Governance/Trust (SG/T) Office including but not limited to responding to routine correspondence/phone calls, records maintenance, monitoring data, and word processing for the department.
Including tracking supply needs and preparing Purchase Orders.
Assist the SG/T Director with the following: Organizing & scheduling meetings with federal agencies, tribes, etc.
on SG/T activities Indian Health Service (IHS) and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) negotiation preparations and taking detailed minutes during negotiations Extensive research for reports and projects Collaborate on projects for best outcomes to advance Kaw Nation Tracking IHS & BIA funding Preparing department budgets, probate family history, realty documents including Fee-to-Trust applications & leasing Maintain a professional relationship by demonstrating the ability to communicate and establish connections with representatives of tribal, federal, and state agencies to advance Kaw Nation goals.
Accompany SG/T Director on required training and travel for department as needed.
This includes out of state travel.
Observance of strict confidentiality in all matters, responsibilities and duties performed in this position for Kaw Nation.
Carry out any other specific duties assigned by director, immediate and/or controlling supervisor.
All new hires are required by the Kaw Nation to submit to a pre-employment drug screen.
Failure to pass the drug screen will lead to withdrawal of the job offer or termination of employment.

Four (4) hours of Sick Leave begins accruing with the first paycheck and each full check during employment.
This amount remains the same throughout employment.
