Address complex payroll issues, calculations, and transactions for OSU and A&Ms as assigned.
Process manual pay calculations, paychecks, voids, and adjustments.
Prepare month-end close posting and reconciliations.
Process federal and state withholding tax deposits, claims and reports.
Perform testing and and review of software updates, system changes, or developments and work with information technology to address and resolve systematic issues and implement new processes as directed.
Update and maintain calendars in payroll software from posted dates.
Manage payroll website.
Research and make recommendations for changes in procedures, processes and/or workflows.
Assist in the implementation of new processes or procedures.
Serve as backup for payroll staff as needed.
Supervise administrative staff.
Serve as a member of the management team.
Represent the department in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School/GED
Five years of progressive payroll related experience.
Demonstrated efficiency with process driven responsibilities, skills in planning and executing tasks and processes necessary to achieve goals.
Strong attention to detail.
Good organization and project management skills.
Ability to work with others to get information and data and work as part of a team.
Ability to analyze, solve, and make decisions when needed.
Ability to communicate effectively, document transactions, and cope with stress in a positive manner.
Strong data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and payroll related field
Five years of related payroll experience including experience remitting and reporting withholding taxes or payroll processing and project management.
Experience in higher education or multi-campus/company environment.
Experience working in Banner HR.
