*JOB DESCRIPTION* *SUMMARY: *The Staff Accountant performs a variety of accounting tasks to assist the Executive Director, Accounting, and Senior Accountant.
Areas of responsibility include general ledger maintenance, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts and providing back up for other staff in the Accounting department.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Working knowledge of GAAP policies and procedures and the ability to apply those procedures to company specific processes; Perform the day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, fixed asset records, etc.
This includes monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts; Analyze company expenses for reasonableness, accuracy and authenticity, and facilitate payment of those expenses; Maintain and ensure accuracy of financial records and reports for management and outside auditors; Code revenues and expenses according to corporate policies and/or budgets; Assist in preparation of annual budget for all companies; Assist in establishing and following internal control procedures in the accounting department; Assist company personnel and outside customers as needed with accounting issues; Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance; Performs other jobs as requested by management.

A Bachelors' degree in accounting or a related field, and two to four years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred.
*LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: *None.
*COMMUNICATION SKILLS:* Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write effective correspondence.
Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: *Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
*REASONING ABILITY: *Proven ability to set work priorities that conform to established company standards.
Ability to use sound judgment in analyzing accounting information.
*TECHNICIAL SKILLS:* Ability to operate basic office machines to include ability to operate a PC with MS Office software.
Proficiency in excel and accounting package software is preferred.
