JOB SUMMARY:
Assists providers and care team in the obstetrical and neonatal setting by ensures operating suite or delivery room suite is adequately prepared for procedure.
Handles and cares for all surgical instrumentation in accordance with departmental and manufacturer’s recommended guidelines before, during, and after procedures.
Ensure aseptic technique is followed during all sterile procedures.
Assists nursing during the vaginal delivery process, maternal and neonatal activities of daily living, and obtaining patient data.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age of 18 years
Current CPR card or completion within 30 days of employment
Completion of a Surgical Technology course with current certification document or 2-year experience as a surgical technician
Basic Computer knowledge
Ability to communicate effectively and function appropriately in stressful situations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing
Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses, to read and write
Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone
Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care
Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs.
